Armstrong Industrial Group (in my Yield Portfolio) has released its Q1-2012 results. Revenue declined 7.1% to $52.3mn while net profit was higher by 20.3% to $5.3mn.

Juken and Frencken ask for trading halt this morning.....is the wait finally over ?!

Both Juken and Frencken has asked for a trading halt this morning. In September 2011, both companies announced that they were involved in discussions that could lead to a merger via a scheme of arrangement. Since then both companies have been giving shareholders monthly updates that discussions are still on going.

Oxley Holdings reports 114% in Q3-2012 revenue to S$48.1mn while net profit was higher by 56% to $8.6mn...two new launches do well.....

I revisited Oxley Holdings in a recent Blog posting on 17 April 2012. The original concept recommendation that I made in January 2011 cited the execution of their bold plan as key to unlocking value. They have done it.......now we have to wait for them to recognise the profits from their sales over the next two years.

China Animal Healthcare (CAH) reports 34% fall in net profit to RMB36.7mn on 30.6% rise in revenue to RMB171.6mn......but its a good set of results !!!!

CAH released its Q1-2012 results on April 30, 2012. Without going into the details the results look disappointing but I am quite happy with them at the operational level. The table below shows why:

I read with interest the article in the Sunday Times - the Shady Side of Penny Stock rallies which focussed on my earlier Blog posting - "what will bring the penny stock rally to an end". In fact Yasmine had called me on Friday afternoon for a quote and I shared some of my views with her. Penny stocks have been dominating the volume on the SGX since February 2012. This is not unusual as we had our blue chip rally from Oct 2011 to Jan 2012 and through normal rotational interest the trading on penny stocks would increase on the back of more positive market sentiment.
